WHO IS A GOOD FRIEND

   ALTERNATE DEFINITION : Some one who tells you the truth-especially when you don't want to hear it

HOW CAN YOU TELL IF YOU HAVE TRUE FRIENDS 

Those who know, like and trust one another; those who support and sympathize. Maybe it's more important to be a friend than to have one. How can you be a friend? Proverbs gives these guidelines:

      - Love unconditional

                    PROVERBS 17:17

         - Be available for advice

                   PROVERBS 27:9

            - Speak the truth

                   PROVERBS 27:5

               - Be loyal

                     PROVERBS 16:28

Jesus choose you to be his friend. "Honour God by accepting each other, as christ has accepted you. "

                                           ROMANS 15:7

Check it off. What's the goal of having friends, anyway?

a. to have someone to talk with at school

b. to keep from being lonely

c. to learn how to be a friend

d. to let them know how much Christ cares for them.

e. to learn and grow together as Christians.

Dating

WHAT IS DATING

ALTERNATE DEFINITION - meeting someone at a particular time, especially a member of the opposite sex. 

Why is it so scary to ask someone for a date? How old should you be to go out on a date? If a guy spends a lot of money on you, do you have to let him kiss you? Do you get embarrassed when your parents want to meet the person you're dating?

Lots of adults will give you advice, even when you don't ask for it. Here's some. Which do you think is good advice?

  * Look for friendship, not love.

  * Go out with groups. Don't isolate yourself

  * Avoid getting too close too soon

  * Don't stay together just for security

  * Don't feel you have to pay for dates with physical intimacy.

  "Don't be a slave of your desires or live like people who don't know God. You must not cheat any of the Lord's followers in matters of sex."

                      1 THSSALONIANS 4:4-6

WHAT CAN YOU DO ON A DATE

Ride a bike, visit a beach. Take a walk. Share a pizza. Watch TV. Bake cookies. Listen to music. Do homework together. Play tennis. Hang out at the mall. Talk. Hold hands. Actually, 50 percent of the girls and 40 percent of the guys graduate from hight school without ever having a date! Surprised? If you're a "late blommer," it's good to know you're not alone.
